Work will commence today on a new signalised junction on the N11, Cabinteely and 130m of Druids Glen Road.

Work shall commence on a new signalised junction on the N11, Cabinteely and 130m of Druids Glen Road on Monday, 25 February 2019.

The works will continue for approx 10 months. The works include construction of dual right turning lanes off the N11, full pedestrian and cyclist crossing facilities, movement of existing U turn in central median to new location south of the junction.

Also redesign of two bus stops on N11 and refurbishment of pedestrian entrance into KIlbogget Park.

The Druids Glen Road work extends 130m long as far as Cabinteely stream only.

This will be followed by a later contract to extend Druids Glen Road in stretches towards Cherrywood town centre. The Druids Glen Road provides access to the O’Flynn residential development on its south side and along the N11. Construction works are scheduled to be completed in Autumn 2019.

A Traffic Management Plan on the N11 will be implemented as required for the works. Footpaths and two traffic lanes shall remain open at all times. Restrictions to cycle lanes will require ‘Cyclist dismount’ notices at the site. Later in the works, there will be some night-time working as part of the N11 reconstruction.
