New Electoral Portal Voter.ie Launched

A new web portal enabling over one million Dublin residents to check their electoral details in real-time has been rolled out in the Dublin region. Voters can check if they are eligible to vote in an election by entering their full name and address or Eircode on the Voter.ie website. It is an additional service available to voters in Dublin and it does not replace the existing paper process. Voter.ie is a joint initiative involving the four Dublin local authorities. It was developed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the Register of Electors and allow for online registration.

In addition to the basic search functionality, the portal will also allow voters who are registered with mygov.id to:

  • Add themselves to the Register of Electors
  • Change their address or other details, including citizenship or change of name
  • Remove themselves from the Register

If they wish to register or change their details on Voter.ie they must verify their identity through MyGovID – MyGovID is an online identity service, developed by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection, that allows you to access online Government services in a safe and secure manner.
