This walking tour, led by Liz Pilkington tour guide for dlr Heritage, will begin at the front of Cabinteely House. The attendees will hear about Robert Nugent, the man who built the grand mansion in 1769 but never lived there. Other occupants of the house through the years will be discussed including the Hollweys who sold the Cabinteely estate to Joseph McGrath, founder of the Irish Sweepstakes, in 1933. The tour will travel through the historic parkland surrounding the grand eighteenth century mansion and takes in the features of the landscape including the former farmyard, high boundary walls and gate lodges.
The tour will cover the parklands surrounding Cabinteely House. Please note this is an outdoor door and it does not go inside the Cabinteely House.
